The Preußenstadion - built in the mid-1920s on Hammer Straße - has many exciting stories to tell. The home ground of the Prussians has been through a lot. Once built by club members, it was almost destroyed in the Second World War and then rebuilt. The Bundesliga experienced its first matches here, generations of Münster residents and Westphalians have spent many hours there. Almost 15,000 spectators can be seated in the tradition-steeped arena - 3,000 of them in the main stand, which was newly built in 2009. The rest are distributed among the standing-room tiers, some of which are covered. In summer 2012, a modern turf heating system was installed for the first time in the almost 90-year history of the Preußenstadion.
